Many people have, and continue to enjoy Nordic Walking for both exercise and social purposes. Many have taken the time to send me a note, many thanks for your comments, and a small selection are below.
“Wanted to take up a new skill so learnt to Nordic walk less than a year ago. Didn’t expect to love it so much especially during 2020 - being out in the fresh air, exercising with friendly people really kept me going. An exercise for all ages but surprising how my fitness has improved - definitely beats the gym.”

This is why I like Nordic Walking …
It's outdoor exercise in pleasant countryside, off-road wherever possible. The instructor leads the way, so you don't need to look at a map!
Your upper body gets exercise as well, and it's up to you how strenuous you make it -- there are opportunities to up the pace during a walk if you want to.
And as a bonus, you meet people, make friends and sometimes you can have a coffee after the walk.

Nordic walking is my happy place. Fresh air, good company, feeling fit and healthy there is nothing quite like it.

In 2018 I started serious walking and joined my local Nordic Walking group. It’s been totally life changing. I’m fitter now than 20 years ago.
Nordic Walking is a great form of exercise as it simultaneously works both upper and lower body.
Walking in a group creates the perfect opportunity to make friends with other like minded people.
Getting out side in the beautiful countryside is invigorating whatever the weather. You can’t beat the ’Green Gym’.
Join the Saffron Walden Nordic Walking Group. You won’t regret it. New Year! New challenge! New You.

It is a pleasure to walk out into the beautiful Essex countryside with Paul’s group of walkers, feeling the benefits of whole-body exercise and camaraderie. I always return invigorated.

We have known and been Nordic Walking with Paul for over four years. Firstly we undertook his initial training course and on completion quickly joined one of his regular groups.
We had a background in walking and under Paul we soon benefitted from the additional skills and knowledge the discipline of Nordic Walking requires that Paul introduced us to. Paul has both a deep knowledge of Nordic Walking and the benefits of related exercise and the ability to impart that knowledge to people of all levels of ability.
While he also runs courses for those of varying ability it is also the case that he has the skill set to manage groups of varying ability that are fully inclusive. it is the case that everyone we have met on one of Paul’s Walks, to a person, feels that they gain not only physical but mental wellbeing from being part of it.
